Delete your account
Your Qissa account has no email, no password and no name. It is a random ID kept in your iPhone's Keychain. You can delete it yourself in the app, any time, and you do not need to ask us.
In the app
- Open your Profile and tap Settings.
- Tap "Manage subscription".
- Tap "Delete account", then confirm.
Paying for Qissa? Cancel first. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription, and we cannot cancel it for you. On iPhone: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions, Qissa.
Want a copy before you go? In the same place, tap "Get a copy of my data".
In a version of the app with no server connection (or in Kid Mode), the same place shows "Clear this phone" instead. That clears everything on the phone and sends nothing anywhere.
What is deleted, and when
| What | When it goes |
|---|---|
| Your account on our server: the account number, the keyed code made from your device ID, the date it was made, and your subscription status | Straight away, when you confirm |
| Records of purchase notices we received for your account | Straight away, when you confirm |
| Your progress, settings and "I said it right" notes, on your phone | Straight away, once our server confirms the deletion |
| The random device ID and sign-in token in your Keychain | Straight away, once our server confirms the deletion |
| Our database host's short restore history | Up to 7 days later, then it is gone |
The app clears your phone only after our server confirms the deletion. If your phone is offline, or the server cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and the app tells you so. Try again when you are back online.
Your voice is never stored, so there is no recording to delete.
What we cannot delete for you
- Your App Store subscription and purchase history. Apple keeps its own records. Cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings.
- Records held by our subscription service (RevenueCat, when it is live in the app), as set out in its own policy.
- Usage analytics, only if you turned them on. The events carry a random analytics ID that is never linked to your account, so nothing connects them to you. They expire with our analytics retention period.
- Server logs. They hold no voice and no words, and are kept for the period in the privacy policy.
If you no longer have the app
Your device ID stays in your iPhone's Keychain after you delete the app. Reinstall Qissa on the same iPhone (or another one signed in to the same Apple ID with iCloud Keychain on), and "Delete account" finds your account again. No sign in is needed.
If you cannot do that, email support@learnqissa.app with the subject "Delete my account". Your account has no email or name on it, so we cannot look it up by your email address. We will reply, work out with you how to find it, and tell you when it is deleted. We answer requests within one month.
